iPod nano Owners Sue Apple Over Scratches

Apple Computer got a bunch of headlines and media attention for its high-profile launch of the iPod nano last month, but this month's headlines and attention are much less positive. It turns out that iPod nano owners are incensed by how easily the device scratches, and I have to say, that's certainly been my experience as well: Though I baby the thing, it is scratched beyond recognition, and none of the Web-based snake-oil solutions have done a thing to help. In any event, Apple is now facing a class action lawsuit over the too-easily-scratched iPod nano. The lawsuit seeks damages that include the price of each purchased device, statutory and punitive damages, and attorneys fees. And you know what? If there is justice in this country, Apple should lose this suit.

Oh jesus....no, Apple should NOT lose this suit you halfwit! I don't even own a nano and yet I heard the things scatch easily the first week they were introduced. If you don't have the brains to buy a cover for it immediately then your ipod will get scratches and that is your fault. If you are an adult then its what is called being-responsible-for-your-actions and part of that is knowing that anything with a very shiny surface like lacquered furniture, cars, surfboards.....or iPods WILL scratch! Get a clue and grow up you little whiny thumb sucking baby!

I don't own an iPod myself, but let's not forget one thing: even Apple admitted there was a problem with the manufacturing and that the things will scratch easily. I have tons of portable devices and some of them get beat to hell but don't show anywhere near the amount of abuse they actually take. Everything I have heard about how easily these things get bruised gives me even more reason to avoid one for the time being.
